The 2019 season has kicked off! There is one word to describe the first week with FRC Team 4063:
The team spent kick-off reading the manual and discussing key points, such as scoring opportunities, penalties, dimensions, and similarities to past FRC games.
Next, the team did some math. Potential scores were calculated, and several scoring scenarios were discussed.
Strategy is not just about making a decision; it is also about exploring all alternatives and discussing EVERYTHING. Growth is the priority, and "group-think" is the enemy. Constructive criticism was encouraged, and the team explored all options.
After several discussions, students went straight to work. The next several days were dedicated to sketches, designs, and mock-ups.
Friday was designated as "Decision Day". Each group presented their designs, where strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (otherwise known as SWOT) were discussed.
After some decisions and questions, we are officially in the prototype phase! The team is committed to a vision, and everyone is ready and willing to make it happen!
Oh, and our half-field (sort-of) is coming along nicely!
